Saad Alsharrah
Researcher and Photographer
Saad Alsharrah is a Kuwaiti researcher and photographer whose work bridges geospatial science and visual storytelling. He holds a PhD in geospatial science from the University of South Australia and an MA in photography from Photography Studies College, Melbourne.
His practice explores the use of spatial technologies and long-form documentary methods to depict complex histories and cross-cultural livelihoods. He is particularly interested in the photobook as a visual medium – for its narrative potential, materiality, and presence as a tactile archive.
Alsharrah is co-founder of Speculative Horizons, a curatorial and educational project promoting lens-based research across Kuwait, Australia, and Japan. He is currently a research scientist at the Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait and an affiliate senior lecturer at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia.
