The Oman Investment Authority, the country’s sovereign wealth fund, is behind many of the strategic economic initiatives in Oman. Its key objectives involve supporting state finances, managing government assets, and growing targeted economic sectors. The OIA reported a record profit of around $4.42 billion for 2023. So far in 2024, the OIA has established the Future Fund Oman and launched a social investment policy for OIA companies, among other activities. The fund’s diversified investment portfolio, which includes investments in more than 50 countries, helps to support the OIA’s important mandate and reinforces strategic partnerships across the globe.
How does the OIA balance and prioritize its domestic activities alongside international investments within its broad mandate? What role do investment opportunities and partnerships across the Gulf and wider Middle East and North Africa play in the OIA’s portfolio and strategic outlook? How can U.S. investors and companies work more closely with the OIA, and where are the other high-priority global markets and sectors for the OIA?
