Abdulsalam Al Murshidi is the president of the Oman Investment Authority, the sovereign wealth fund of the Sultanate of Oman. As part of his duties at the OIA, Al Murshidi is a member of the board of the Gulf Investment Corporation and the board of governors of the Asian Investment Infrastructure Bank. He is also a member of the Global Commission on Science Missions for Sustainability at the International Science Council. Al Murshidi has also founded various industrial, commercial, and investment companies in the region.   

Al Murshidi graduated with distinction from the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom with a Master of Science in petroleum geology. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in geophysics from the University of Arizona.
