Rasha Aljoundy is a senior researcher specializing in Middle Eastern and Gulf affairs, with a particular focus on the political dynamics, security, and internal affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council region. With over a decade of expertise, she has been studying the Gulf region since 2011 and currently oversees the training program at the Dubai Public Policy Research Centre. Aljoundy holds a master’s degree in international relations and world order from Leicester University (United Kingdom, 2016) and a law degree from the University of Damascus (Syria, 2006), where she trained as a lawyer and was registered with the Damascus Bar Association. Her in-depth research examines the geopolitics of the Gulf, and she has contributed to numerous publications and policy discussions on the region’s evolving political landscape.
Syria’s new leaders will need to evolve again and become a movement that speaks to the aspirations of all the Syrian people and addresses their pressing economic concerns and their need for rebuilt, responsive, representative institutions of governance and security.
