AGSIW in the Gulf
AGSIW President Ambassador Douglas A. Silliman, Executive Vice President Ambassador William Roebuck, and members of the board of directors met with Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the president of the UAE; U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Sean Murphy; AmCham Abu Dhabi; and several other current and former Emirati officials.

The group visited the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy where Roebuck and Ambassador David Welch, a member of AGSIW’s board of directors, participated in the program "Tending the U.S.-UAE Relationship in a Multipolar World” alongside Emirati counterparts. In Dubai, the group visited the USA Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and the newly opened Museum of the Future and met with U.S. Consul General in Dubai Meghan Gregonis.

In Bahrain, Roebuck met with Bahraini Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Rashid bin Abdullah al-Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullatif Rashid Alzayani, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities Sheikha Mai bint Mohammed al-Khalifa, and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Margaret Nardi. In Oman, he met with a range of civil society figures, journalists, and academics.
