Yemen’s war begins its sixth year with a worrisome uptick in ground fighting, which threatens to upend the modest progress made in 2019  toward a negotiated settlement to the conflict and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis that will be the enduring legacy of this war. Do recent advances by Houthi forces suggest that rebel leaders have decided to abandon negotiations and seek a military victory? Are there any viable channels of negotiation at this moment that might forestall such an outcome? What would be the impact of an all-out resumption of the war on the millions of Yemenis who are in desperate need of food, shelter, and other humanitarian assistance? And finally, what can and should the international community be doing at this moment? On March 30, AGSIW hosted a briefing discussing these issues and developments in the conflict in Yemen.
