The board of directors of the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington announces the appointment of Ambassador Douglas A. Silliman as the institute’s new president. Ambassador Marcelle M. Wahba, AGSIW president, participated in roundtable discussions on Arab-Israeli relations and the Israeli-Palestinian peace process at the United States Institute of Peace.
Senior Resident Scholar Hussein Ibish gave a keynote address at a conference on Canada-Middle East relations at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.
