As part of a series of one-on-one conversations with AGSIW’s Hussein Ibish, veteran Lebanese analyst and commentator Michael Young will discuss the conflict at the Lebanese-Israeli border.

The Lebanese-Israeli border is an extremely dangerous flashpoint, with the strong potential for a major Israeli invasion in an effort to push back or even crush Hezbollah. Meanwhile, Lebanon remains in the grip of a chronic economic crisis and political paralysis, without a president for well over a year. The country is in no condition to survive an Israeli onslaught, even a limited one. Israeli military strikes since October 7, 2023 have already rendered significant portions of the south practically uninhabitable. What will happen in the event of an Israeli invasion, and where does Lebanon go from here?
