WASHINGTON, February 18, 2025 – The Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington is pleased to announce that Mohammed Al–Ghanim and William L. Nash III have joined the institute’s board of directors.
Mohammed Al-Ghanim serves as chief executive officer of the Hamad S. Alghanim & Sons Group, a family-owned business based out of Kuwait that operates in engineering, procurement, and construction. Prior to assuming his current position, Al-Ghanim served as political communications manager in the Technical and Advisory Unit of the Office of His Highness the Prime Minister of Kuwait. He served as the Arab Region Coordinator for the Global Youth ACTION Network, founding member of the inaugural United Nations Population Fund Youth Advisory Panel, and youth representative to the Founding Board of the Mentor Arabia Foundation. Al-Ghanim holds a BA in political science from Tufts University and an MA in political science and a high diploma in Arabic studies from the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies, both of which are from Georgetown University.
William L. Nash III is a managing partner of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, LLP’s Abu Dhabi office, co-leader of the firm’s Middle East practice, and a member of the firm’s Advisory Board and International Leadership Council. He has been a resident of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates since 2008 and previously lived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Nash represents institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, corporate groups, and family offices, in connection with their global investment activities, including establishing and maintaining customized investment platforms, reviewing and negotiating investments in private investment funds, and drafting and negotiating investment management agreements. Nash also represents asset managers in connection with their formation and operational matters and in respect to the structuring, formation, governance, and regulation of private investment funds, with a current particular focus on the Abu Dhabi Global Market. In addition, Nash advises Middle East financial institutions on compliance and regulatory matters, including the application of U.S. anti-money laundering, sanctions, and know-your-customer laws and regulations.
