AGSIW President Ambassador Douglas A. Silliman was in New York City for meetings on the margins of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He called on Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sabah al-Khaled al-Sabah and Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya. He also called on Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Ambassador Jasem AlBudaiwi and GCC Assistant Secretary Abdulaziz Aluwaisheg.
Silliman participated in meetings with President of the Republic of Yemen Rashad al-Alimi as well as Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. He attended a ceremony at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in which the museum formally accepted from the president of Yemen a loan of 14 ancient artifacts for restoration, cataloging, and study at the Met.
BBC World TV: In multiple interviews, Ibish discussed tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. He also spoke with ABC Radio National's "Rear Vision" program and Asharq.
Brooklyn College: Ibish spoke on the panel "How Did We Get Here and Where Can We Go? On the History and Future of Israel and Palestine." He also spoke at Stony Brook University.
