What Now for U.S. Arms Sales to Saudi Arabia?

The killing of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey has prompted numerous lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to urge the Trump administration to halt U.S. arms sales to Saudi Arabia. President Donald J. Trump, however, has said he is unwilling to give up the billions of dollars in revenue and the thousands of jobs he claims are generated by the arms deal struck with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Is there $110 billion in arms sales to Saudi Arabia currently in the pipeline, as the president has asserted? Is the Khashoggi case likely to cause the United States to halt arms sales and what tools are available to the U.S. Congress if lawmakers decide to do so?
