What are the prospects for continued economic recovery in the Gulf, and will regional diversification efforts lead to increased competition or cooperation? Will ongoing regional de-escalation efforts continue, and will they pave the way for a return to a deal over Iran’s nuclear weapons program? What policies are shaping the U.S. administration’s approach to the region, and how are these policies affecting Gulf states’ partnerships with countries such as China and Russia? As Gulf states, especially Saudi Arabia, continue to centralize power within the monarchy and state institutions, what are the expected impacts on their populations and state-society relations?
